For some people, cars are just a way to get around. A mode of transport. A tool.
Not so for Kath of @dux_madeyoulook.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a car with more of its owner’s personality injected into it. Her burgundy Audi TT is as recognisable as it is far from stock - certainly befitting of the “made u look” moniker it wears.
Kath can count over 20 modifications she’s made to the car, including:
Stage 1 by R-Tech
KW Coilovers
SW Motorsport airdam and rear wing (the TT Cup aero kit)
Custom sideskirts by G.R.A.M.S Styling
Custom-made wide carbon fibre vented wings by Carbonfibrecustoms in Greece
ABS Motorsport bonnet vent
Gravity performance exhaust
Custom carbon fibre LED steering wheel

“I grew up with motorbikes but as I got older it merged into the modded car scene” Kath said. “I’d never have been able to afford the TT in [her native] Denmark as cars are really expensive, so as soon as I moved to the UK I bought one”.
She bought the car - her first right-hand drive car, having moved for work from Denmark in 2014 - completely stock nine years ago, and has “slowly been modifying it ever since”.
Rather than making changes at random or based on what’s popular online at the time, Kath says that all the alterations have been to fulfill a childhood dream of having a race car.

“I wanted to create the image of what a race car looked like in my head as a kid and still make it purposeful in terms of aerokit and performance mods - not just for looks”.
She does seem to have achieved that too. The old cliche of “it looks fast standing still” applies here, with almost every element of the car having been altered. Perhaps unlike some other car fans though, Kath bought the car and stuck with it - changing aspects of it over those nine years rather than the car itself.
There seems to be something about the TT that just works for their owners. We spoke to another Audi TT owner previously - 2007 Audi TT 2.0 Turbo Convertible - who waxed lyrical about the peppy roadster. Everyone’s story is different though, so where did Kath’s love for the TT come from?

“I really have no clue where the fascination with the TT has come from, to be honest.
“I’ve always been into the Japanese scene but most of the cars have always been quite square, so I’ve just found the TT (especially the Mk2) very ‘sexy’ with the round curves and big rear, yet still aggressive-looking enough to not be a hairdresser’s car”.
We don’t think anyone could accuse this car of being a hairdresser’s car. It wears its aggression boldly - sweeping curves broken by harsh lines and contrasting colours. At the front a black splitter leads to deep red bodywork, then into carbon arches and candy gold rims, while at the rear the double exhaust on the left goes to the personalised plate, the “DUX” badge, and up into a scaffolding rear wing.

There are changes in between the front and rear too, with side skirts, stickers (“#allergictobasic” over the right rear wheel arch) and even more aero.
The car was being displayed as part of Modified day at The Motorist, however that’s far from the only time it comes out. “I’ve been travelling to Gravity [Gravity Car Show - the largest indoor car show in the UK] for the past four years, and YouTuber Adam C found his way to it and featured it earlier this year” (video here). She’s also been to Ultimate Stance, YTTC Classic Car Show, and Chesterfield Autofest just this year - showing off the one-of-a-kind vehicle.
As you’d imagine from a car that’s had so much changed, it’s never finished. Nine years of modifications later and there are still upcoming plans, including “wide arches to fit on the rear, a custom powder-coated k-brace that’s the same colour as my front wheels, and a livery planned too”.
So while the car might be a constant work in progress, one thing is for sure - you won’t miss it. And we’re willing to bet that it will “make u look” as well. We did.
